The handwriting may be difficult to read - try to confirm names and/or places by cross-referencing with other sources, such as the BMD indexes or google map.

Select for pages containing household schedules, institutions, shipping or any larger establishments
Located along the top row of the Census enumeration page are Parish, City, Town and Village. Enter as given, for example for the Parish of 'St John Baptist' and City of 'Hereford' please enter both together 'St John Baptist Hereford'
Given in the first column of the the enumeration page. Please enter for every member of each household. The schedule number is not the House/Street number, do not duplicate this number in the Street Address column.
Data from the second column of the enumeration page. Enter for every member of each household. Do not enter uninhabited properties. If no street address is given, please check the previous image (using Image Navigation controls) otherwise enter the civil parish only. Do not include the word 'continued' if written in the street address.
In the third column of the enumeration page, extract and enter all full forenames, if given, for every person listed, including initials.

In the fourth column of the enumeration page, enter all relationships to the head of the family, where given.
In in sixth and seventh columns of the enumeration page, enter into the Age field. Enter infant ages as eg: 10M, 9W, 3D.
Enter M (for Male) or F (for Female) according to column the Age has been written in.
In the eight column of the enumeration page, enter professions as they are written.
In the ninth column of the enumeration page, extract the Birth County from the Where Born column if given and if possible. Enter any given country is this column. Do not add any information that is not written on the image.

The folio number is a larger printed number located in the very top right corner of every other image, and relates to the current and the following page - so one folio number applies to two pages. Please check previous image to find the correct folio number (it will never be the printed number in the top middle of the page - this is the original page number). It may be sometimes necessary to check the following page to work out the previous number.
Select Unreadable Image if the text is completely indecipherable from the image.
Select No Data if the image does not have the type of information indexed in this project.
